Hey! I’m Sarah, a certified Precision Nutrition L-1 and lifestyle coach who helps women reconnect with themselves, take back their health, and pursue kick-ass lives with their families.
As a young girl, I grew up shooting hockey pucks with my brothers from the time school got out until sunset. It made me feel strong and powerful. But over time, I did what all self-conscious tween girls do – I took up activities that society deemed “more acceptable.”
I became a cheerleader, and instead of rallying for myself, I rallied for others. Then, in my 20s, I took up fashion design and eventually opened my own vintage boutique in Downtown, NYC. Although I loved designing beautiful frocks, all the while I felt a deep unhappiness.
At 35 years old, that all changed when I reconnected with the gritty, powerful little girl that was still kicking around inside of me. I joined a boxing gym and rekindled the passion I once had for becoming a mentally, physically, and emotionally stronger female.
While training, I met my future husband – retired North American Muay Thai Champ Chris Romulo – and his charming 10 year old son. The duo swept me off my feet (really, my boxing shoes) and we eventually got married and had a son – my first and Chris’ second. And naturally, when the time was right we added a Staffy named Bruce Leash to our family.
Since we were both passionate about helping others through health and exercise, we thought about opening a martial arts and fitness center together in gritty Rockaway Beach, Queens. This was after almost everyone told me not to give up my successful clothing shop Downtown.
Did I love sourcing and designing gorgeous duds? Yes! Was this my dream since I was a young girl? Sure! But could I just quiet the desire inside of me that wanted real purpose? No! So, I went with my heart.
We opened CROM Physical Culture in 2010 and, for an entire decade helped countless kids, teens, and adults harness their inner champion. Then we decided to take our mission beyond Rockaway Beach, evolving our offerings to include mindset and nutrition coaching and the journey has been unmatchable.
Nowadays, when we’re not holding family sparring sessions in between meal-prepping and homework, I’m super passionate about coaching women so that they can uncover their internal desires and match them up with their external realities.
However, instead of throwing meal plans and workouts at women, I coach them to go deep and get to the root of what’s holding them back. I also coach women through their self-doubt, empowering them with the tools to create the life they want. And we work like hell to get there, tapping into their resilience.
